Senate Bill 890 — Local Candidate Filing Requirement
Effective November 1, 2025, all local candidates — county commissioners, city council members, school board candidates, district attorneys, and mayors — who raise or spend over $1,000 must register and file campaign finance reports through the OEC rather than local county or city clerks. This triples the OEC filer base and centralizes Oklahoma campaign finance transparency.
2026 Contribution Limits: Individual contributions limited to $3,500 per election. Contributions of $200+ must be individually itemized.
